Board of Directors

Board of Directors

The JCSA Board of Directors provides leadership, oversight, and direction for the Josephine County Sportsman Association. The Board is responsible for establishing policies and procedures, conducting the business affairs of the Association, and helping ensure JCSA’s facilities, programs, finances, and operations support the organization’s mission and membership.

The Board is made up of JCSA’s elected officers, two Directors at Large, and two (2) Directors elected by each affiliated club. This structure gives both the general membership and JCSA’s many shooting disciplines a voice in the governance and future direction of the Association.

The Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month to review Association business, financial matters, safety and facility needs, club activities, and other issues affecting JCSA. The Board also provides oversight of the organization’s long-term priorities while JCSA’s Executive Vice-President and range staff manage day-to-day operations.

JCSA members are welcome to attend Board of Directors meetings and participate in discussions. Voting authority is reserved for elected officers and directors in accordance with the JCSA By-Laws.

Directors at large

Directors at Large represent the interests and perspectives of JCSA’s general membership on the Board of Directors. Unlike Affiliated Club Directors, who are elected to represent a specific club, Directors at Large serve the Association as a whole and participate in Board discussions, decisions, and voting on matters affecting JCSA.

JCSA has two Director at Large positions, each serving a two-year term. The positions are elected on alternating years to help provide continuity on the Board. Directors at Large are elected by JCSA members in good standing at the Annual General Membership Meeting by majority vote.

Club Directors

Affiliated Club Directors represent JCSA’s 10 individual affiliated clubs on the Board of Directors.

Club Directors provide a direct connection between their affiliated club and JCSA leadership. They bring forward club activities, priorities, concerns, and perspectives while also participating in decisions that affect the Association as a whole. In this role, Club Directors help keep communication flowing in both directions—making sure their club is represented at the Board level while also helping their club stay informed about JCSA business, policies, projects, and other matters that may affect its members.

Although elected by their individual clubs, Club Directors serve as members of the JCSA Board of Directors and share responsibility for the broader governance and success of the Association.

Each affiliated club elects two directors at its annual meeting to serve on the JCSA Board. All Club Directors must be members in good standing of both JCSA and the affiliated club they represent. When both directors from the same club attend a Board meeting, each holds one-half vote; alternatively, the club’s designated director may exercise one full vote.
